Sue Ford is the Producer and Host of “Arts On The Air.”
She says “I have enjoyed hosting this program for 40 years. It airs for a half hour on Sunday Mornings. As the name suggests, I have the privilege of interviewing the people who contribute to making our area the cultural gem that it has become. I grew up in Auburn, New York on Owasco Lake, one of the Finger Lakes. I was a vocal performance major at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, graduating in 1958. (Of course I was only 9 at the time!) I have a Masters Degree in Education. Initially teaching music, I eventually found my true calling, which I continued for 26 years …teaching third graders at the Ballard Elementary School in South Glens Falls. During my teaching career at Ballard, I am proud to have started the school’s Drama Club, which I continued to direct into retirement. Although I retired in 1998, I still am fortunate to substitute teach and remain active with the Drama Club at Ballard to this day.”
Sue has enjoyed living in Glens Falls since 1969, when her husband Tom became the principal at Sanford Street Elementary School. They have two sons, Stephen and Douglas, daughters-in-law Kelly and Gloria, and three wonderful grandchildren, Katie, Matthew and Austin.
